Our Lady of Fatima has several groups and activities available for you and your family throughout the week. You will find not only worship, prayer, and ministry, but also educational and social opportunities to offer a model for an integrated life in Christ. Below you will find some examples of different groups and ministries but also keep in mind that new groups and ministries are being formed as needs and the Spirit moves us in that direction. Please stop by after Mass and meet the priest, parish, and people.
Food and Fellowship: After each Mass there is food, hospitality, and socializing in the parish hall. In addition, we often have short teachings on various topics to keep you abreast on matters of faith and practice.
Pastoral and Administrative Councils: Our Pastoral and Administrative Councils meet in the Parish Hall on a bimonthly basis to plan and provide the various needs of the parish. All are invited and welcome to attend as well as assist in the work, mission, and ministries of the council.
Choir: We are always looking for people to help. If you can play or sing you are always welcome. In particular playing piano, cantoring, or singing with the group is always needed. Please talk to a member of the choir for more information.
Altar Servers: If your child would like to be an altar server, talk to Fr. Ben or Fr. Victor. Requirements are that they have received their first communion and get trained.
Liturgical Ministries: If you would like to be trained as a Eucharistic Minister or Lector, please talk with Fr. Ben or Fr. Victor.
Prayer Groups: Every first and third Wednesday we have an informal prayer group that meets to sing, pray, explore the Bible, and have adoration. It begins at 7:00 pm and is about an hour.
Legion of Mary: We have a group that meets to pray the rosary, do the spiritual practices of the Legion of Mary, and offer ministry like visiting the sick. Talk to Fr. Ben for more information.
Knights of Columbus: We partner with our sister parish at Shepherd of the Valley. If you would like more information talk to Don Shefcheck or Fr. Ben.
Rosaries: About 40 minutes before Each Mass and communion service we have a rosary that we pray together in the church.
First Fridays, Breakfast, and Church Cleaning: Every first Friday after Mass we have a simple gathering for breakfast, socializing, and then spend a short time doing a quick cleaning of the church. It’s a nice way to work together to keep the parish tidy and inviting.
Seasonal Events and Activities: We have various events and activities depending on the time of year and the church calendar. For example, we have different celebrations during the year to celebrate days such as Thanksgiving, St. Patrick’s Day, Our Lady of Fatima, 4th of July, etc. We also have an annual picnic and various social functions. During Lent and Advent we have additional teachings and seminars such as Stations of the Cross, simple suppers and prayer services. Check the bulletin for current offerings.
